Four providers in sync for 20 months, with AI support on top.

01 · How it had always been done

A gift card issued in one place, loaded in another, redeemed in a third, with an expiry the app had to honour, and none of the providers knew about the others. One reward, four owners of its state. Any two of them disagreeing meant a waiter at a till holding a card the app said was valid.

02 · What we changed

For twenty months we have been the engineering of the product, not a supplier of a project. Every issue, load, redeem and expiry event comes back to the app and updates one state, in order, with the out-of-order ones reconciled. On top of that, an AI layer for the questions arriving in support that had no script, built by us, answering from the product's own record.

03 · What that made possible

Four providers in sync without rewriting the base. Support answered where the script ends. The AI only works because the state underneath it is consistent, which is the order we always do it in.
